Readathon Hours 11-14 Update

Hey Followers!

Let's start off with the half way survey and then I'll get to my stats.

Mid-Event Survey:
1. What are you reading right now? I'm in between books, but I'm going to start The Vanishing Point by Louise Hawkes. It looks like a great YA historical fiction novel!
2. How many books have you read so far? I've finished four and I'm really pleased.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? I only have two books left. I am most looking forward to A Wrinkle In Time. Everyone raves about it and I thought it was about time to delve into it.
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day? I had to let my mom know that she wasn't allowed to annoy me, but besides that, nope!
5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? I went to a garage sale and got ice cream, but those were welcome breaks! I've had brief ones as well, but they were manageable to make up for them I just read faster.
6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? How easy it's been! I thought this would be more difficult. I'm sure the night will be harder, though.
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? Oh I can't think of anything! Everyone has been so active and refreshing. I'd provide mini challenges with themes. I'd love to be able to scan through mini challenges and be able to pick which one I was in the mood for easily.
8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year? I think I'd try to have more breaks and get involved a bit more. I also might try some more fun YA chick lit novels.
9. Are you getting tired yet? A little, but I'll be able to brave the night with my friends and two engaging novels!
10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered? I'd say the key is picking short and sweet novels. It's especially good if they're from an author you know you already enjoy. Also eat lots of healthy food and take breaks when you feel burnt out.

  1. Just stopped by to cheer you on and share my Read-A-Thon poem.

If I could have one wish,
I know what I would say.
    Just give me my books,
And let me read all day.

    Happy Reading.
