Book Signing Posts!

So, in November I met Scott Westerfeld, Holly Black and Cassandra Clare and I STILL haven't blogged about it. I also went to a book signing yesterday where I met Megan
Crewe, Rhonda Stapleton and Lara Zielin. I didn't get pictures from either one, so you're just going to have to believe that I went!

The Scott Westerfeld, Holly Black and Cassandra Clare event was the best night of my entire life. Scott had a great presentation about his newest book Leviathan, where he talked about illustrations in books and World War I. Then Holly and Cassandra came in talking about NaNoWrimo, which was fun. I was really nervous, since this was my first official book signing ever. They answered questions about their novels and the writing process. It was a fun event, and they were exactly how I had imagined them. Then I waited two hours to get my books signed, and was literally the last person in line! But luckily, it was all worth it because I got a lot of time with Holly Black. It was a fantastic event and the authors were delightful and quirky. I got Leviathan, Uglies, Tithe, Valiant, and two copies of City of Bones signed! It was such an enjoyable experience.

Yesterday I went to the signing at Indigo and had a blast! Although Sarah Ockler wasn't there, I still had a lot of fun. I spent most of my time with Lara Zielin, the author of Donut Days. She was friendly, bubbly and a lot of fun to talk to! I got Give Up the Ghost, two copies of Stupid Cupid and Donut Days signed. It was a quick half an hour event, but it was worth the two hour drive!

That is all I have to say! Two awesome events. I hope to see the authors again.

  1. I'm jealous! There are very few author signings in my area...so unless I travel I don't get to meet many authors.

  4. Lizzy: That is too bad! I don't live in Toronto, but it isn't too far of a drive!

April: It was great! I'll be on the look out for the next big one.

Ah Yuan: OMG, really? That is quite odd! I read that post and I laughed out loud. I have to agree about Cassandra Clare. I do prefer Holly and Scott. I cannot wait for Behemoth. If you're going to any other YA book signings, email me and perhaps we could meet one another! Love your blog.
