I have 42 FOLLOWERS! Woot! I'm so happy about that! Oh. Right. The book.
Bloom is about Lauren, an average girl with the perfect boyfriend, but there's no chemistry between them. When Lauren is reunited with Evan, her old kinda sorta step brother, things start getting complicated.
I saw this in the library and since Living Dead Girl by the same author was out, I decided to pick this up. If anything, if made me want to run in the opposite direction. It started out pretty well, the writing was good, the chemistry between Evan and Lauren was solid and interesting, but then Scott kept on repeating sentences and Lauren was always complaining about how she SHOULD want this or SHOULD do that. The romance started to repeat and become very cliche. All the characters were two dimensional and boring, and I wouldn't want to know any of them. The ending was predictable, and ultimately I got nothing out of this book except the urge to grab a mallet and hurt something. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone unless you have heroines who aren't very likable and cheesy romance. If you want good YA romance, check out Deb Caletti or Sarah Dessen.
