July 7, 09 The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong

Hey!

Right after reading The Summoning, I had to get my hands on the sequel, since it ended in a MASSSIVE cliffhanger.

The Awakening is about Chloe, a necromancer who is now on the run with three other kids from a group of people who want to do experiments on them. I'd say more, but then I'd give too much away.

The Awakening completely makes up for the fact that The Summoning was more of an introduction book. There's so much action and many cliff hangers on every chapter, but I never got bored and I always wanted more. I enjoyed the characters' interactions and the writing was as fantastic as ever. There are STILL so many questions that need to be answered! I can't wait for The Reckoning in 2010!

  1. The Reckoning will rock, there is no doubt in my mind. Chloe better get with Derek and not Simon or I will be crazy upset! I love the covers of these books, so mysterious!

  2. I COMPLETELY agree with you! Simon is nice, but way too boring.

  9. There is a KINDA SORTA cliffhanger at the end, but no where near as horrible as in the first book.

Thanks Kate, I try to be considerate since my favorite book of all time was ruined by someone who didn't say their post revealed a spoiler. :P

  11. I agree. I felt this book really grew, and the characters became more dimensional. The rabbit hole just seems to keep getting deeper... I'm eagerly awaiting The Reckoning myself.
